About

Thank you for visiting ACIM Way. This site and its content are for all students of A Course in Miracles – beginner through advanced.

As the Course begins:

Nothing real can be threatened.
Nothing unreal exists.
Herein lies the peace of God.

So we begin our studies with the metaphysical understanding that while we certainly experience lack of peace and “threatening” situations in the world, that is not our true reality. In truth, we are at home in the state of infinite oneness, infinite peace.

Of course, our experiences seem to be anything but infinite oneness. Everywhere we look about us we see separation, separate interests, strife, discontent, and striving to get by with our little lot on life.  In the mythology of the Course we read:

Into eternity, where is all one, there crept a tiny, mad idea, at which the Son of God remembered not to laugh. In his forgetting did the thought become a serious idea, and possible of both accomplishment and real effects.  (T-27.VIII.6)

We indeed have remembered not to laugh and believe everything about us to be real, and very serious indeed.

One of the amazing qualities of A Course in Miracles is the two levels on which it is written. First, on the metaphysical level, we learn of that state of reality – heaven, oneness – where we are at home with God.

What He creates is not apart from Him, and nowhere does the Father end, the Son begin as something separate from him. (W-pI.132.12)

Nothing could ever intrude upon that.  How could “two-ness”, or duality, manifest when all that exists is oneness?

But, as our experiences are anything but oneness, the Course is also written on a second level, or the level of the illusion – exactly where we believe we are, along with everyone else in our lives. Here we not only think this is real, but capable of serious consequences. And the Course is written to help us understand the metaphysical framework of reality as well give us very practical steps to help us awaken from this dream of separation.

The Course uses the term Holy Spirit to refer to that remembrance of our true home. The Holy Spirit is our helpful guide meeting us where we believe we are, but teaching us how we can move beyond our perceptions.

The Holy Spirit, seeing where you are but knowing you are elsewhere, begins His lesson in simplicity with the fundamental teaching that truth is true. (T-14.II.2)

The Course consists of thirty-one chapters of theoretical framework, followed by a 365-lesson workbook, closing with a teacher’s manual. As the Course implies, all paths, in the end, lead to God. Some paths are more direct than others. The Course is one of the more strikingly direct paths.

This is a course in miracles. It is a required course. Only the time you take it is voluntary. Free will does not mean that you can establish the curriculum. It means only that you can elect what you want to take at a given time. (T-in.1)

Welcome to the journey back to the home we never left.
